Dick Lopez got his start as an art director at some of the ad agencies at the forefront of the "Creative Revolution": Carl Ally; Papert, Koenig & Lois; and Jack Tinker & Partners. He became Senior Vice President, Creative Director, at Scali, McCabe, Sloves and then Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director at Saatchi Compton and then Bozell.
For twenty years he headed his own consulting service. He has worked on major brands in every field, from Burger King to Credit Suisse, from IBM to Pfizer, from British Airways to Excedrin, from Cutty Sark to Acura, from Revlon to Ivory soap. Along the way, he has won dozens of major awards in all the major award shows. He is that rare combination in an art director: a graphic designer and a strategist. In addition to having taught advertising at the School of Visual Arts, he is a photographer and composer.
